Visa Regulations

Requirements for Au Pair

  • You are aged between 18 and 30;
  • Not be married or have children
  • Knowledge of English
  • Be able to afford the return ticket
  • Health/travel insurance is recommended for au pair
  • “Working Holiday” Visas are required for au pairs, visit the Australian government website
  • Certain countries are only able to participate in the au pair program
  • Sufficient funds to cover your stay is required (around 3000 Euros)
  • No contract is needed for Australia, however We Hive strongly recommends to use the official  EU contract template to formalize daily tasks

Requirements for Family

  • There are one or more children between 3 and under 18 living in your home
  • The au pair must have her own room
  • Daily working hours should not exceed 40 hours per week
  • Au pair is entitled to receive between 500 Euros per month
  • Allow for some extra spending like mobile phone, insurance, language course
  • No contract is needed for Australia, however We Hive strongly recommends to use the official  EU contract template to formalize daily tasks
