Requirements for Au Pair
- You are aged between 18 and 30;
- Can’t be married or have children
- Be able to pay for travel expenses
- Basic knowledge of English
- Health/travel insurance is recommended for au pair
- Visa may be required for non-EU au pairs or extra conditions like sufficient funds to cover your stay
- No Contact is compulsory for Ireland, however We Hive recommends to use the official EU contract template to formalize daily tasks
Requirements for Family
- There are one or more children between 3 and under 18 living in your home
- The au pair must have her own room
- Family should speak English
- Au pair stay should be at least for 3 months, can be less in the summer
- Au pair should be given free time to attend language course
- Daily working hours should not exceed 30 hours per week
- Au pair is entitled to receive the minimum wage (around £12.70 per hour)
- Allow for some extra spending like mobile phone, insurance, language course if needed
